My daughter is pregnant with her first baby. Everything has been fine she is now 36 weeks .T hey have said the last couple of times she has seen a midwife that the baby is not growing much . On the scale the baby is at the lowest . I wonder if this has happend with anyone else. She goes back next week so i am praying the baby starts to grow . I have been googling this problem but i always seem to hang on to the negative bits. If any would like to say a little prayer we would be so grateful . I wish i didn'nt worry quit so much . At least she is being seen next week Kathleen. I'm sure that if the midwife had any serious concerns she would have referred your daughter to the doctor. It's hard not to worry, but she's almost there. Will be thinking of you both.

Hello Kathleen

I agree with what Julie's said. If the midwife thought anything was wrong she would of been seen straight away.

Stop looking on google and have faith in her midwife, Dr Google hasn't examined her.

Enjoy this lovely time.

Love to you all

I will definitely say a prayer!

Please try not to worry too much, although this is MUCH harder to say than do. At least your daughter is 36 weeks so the baby could be born perfectly safely.

Marie, my daughter, was born at 35 weeks and hadn't grown for two weeks before.

They will keep a close eye on her and if in doubt will act.

Much love,

Amanda

hi Kathleen,

just wanted to add my best wishes and i'm sure if there was anything the medical team felt was a worry they wouldn't have left your daughter.

i don't google health issues you do zoom in on the negatives it's human nature i guess.

i sometimes look up a drug but leave it there.

hope you report back that all is well,

Amanda's words are very encouraging.

Hi Kathleen

Not had quite the experience of Amanda but heyho ... think she's going for a record!!! BigGrin

One of my four stopped growing at 33 weeks, his twin brother was getting all the nutrition! He was an acceptable size though and the medics did no more other than check growth, heartbeat etc over the following weeks. They were born at 39 weeks at 5lbs 4ozs and 7lbs 5ozs! Quite a difference! The lighter one, crawled first, stood up first, walked first and everything else first for that matter!!

I am sure all will be well and if there was concern your daughter would have been taken into hospital for monitoring. Please try not to worry ThumpUp

Sharon went to see the midwife today. They gave her another ultrasound ,
said baby was fine and six pounds in weight.
I am very relieved and thank god everything looking normal. She still has three weeks to go
so it could grow a bit by then.

Really good news Kathleen. Thanks for letting us know. Babies can put on up to half a pound a week at the end, so it might well be a good 7 pounder! (7 pounds is plenty! My 1st was 7 pounds and fifth was 10 pounds! )

Hope the next few weeks go easily and trouble free for you all. XX Ailsa

ThumpUp My wonderful news ! My daughter asked if she could have a scan on Wednesday after seeing the midwife. She said she felt something was not right because her bump felt flatter and the baby wasn't moving much. Its a good job she did because their was no fluid round the baby and his heartbeat was erratic. They gave . her an emergency ceasearean . Baby Jack was born on Wednesday ai 4.55 he is 6 LBS - 3OZS and he is beautiful. They are both very well. We are all delighted. Thank.s everyone for your good advice and messages.
